When I see Christmas cards from the 50s and 60s I think of when I was a kid and my mom would work at the dining room table where she’d set up piles of Christmas cards, the address book, holiday postage stamps, and her favorite pen.
She sent out many, many cards each year to family and friends, with most cards including a handwritten message or letter.
My friend gave me a box of vintage cards that had been sent to her family years ago.
They reminded me so much of the cards on the dining room table, and that makes me feel happy!
The inside greeting may be a sweet little poem or a simple line.
Happy New Year wishes were often included in the Christmas greeting.
Of course, there are plenty of Christmas angels to point the way to the meaning of Christmas.
Don’t you just love these little angels I found at a thrift shop in Germany?
I love their golden crowns and Princess Leia hairdos.
Opps…oh no!….after my photo shoot an angel fell and broke her wing.
But be not afraid!
For I have come with glue and good news that we all fall down now and then and what is broken in your life can be fixed with a little time and love.
MAY YOU EMBRACE AND HOLD TIGHT THE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS THROUGH THE HOLIDAY SEASON AND BEYOND.
